ARRIVAL IN COSTA RICA: Where to sleep? SAN JOSE or ALAJUELA?
Are you arriving with AIR FRANCE or IBERIA? BRITISH AIRWAYS EDELWEISS, LUFTANSA, .... Tired and a little confused at the end of the day at ? After a loooong plane trip of more than 10 hours and for 2 or 3 weeks a beautiful restorative holiday:)
Looking for a nice place to spend a night or two? A place that can be reached at a reasonable time of arrival? You would like a nice, quiet place that already puts you well in the natural and green atmosphere of Costa Rica, a small corner of connoisseurs, human size, not an impersonal and soulless hotel room planted downtown.
As I made the mistake myself during my first stay in Costa Rica, you will naturally think that the airport of San José, JUAN SANTA MARIA (SJO) is in San José? and well lost! It is located in ALAJUELA, 20 km west of the capital.
I strongly advise you to spend your first night in ALAJUELA in a place where you can sleep quietly because the trip lasts 10 hours + jet lag, which means that you will not sleep for 24 hours. Do not neglect your first night's rest, it is crucial!
For 12 years, we have been welcoming our visitors on the heights of Alajuela, in the middle of coffee fields on more than 7000 m2 of tropical garden and forest.
We can also welcome you at the airport and take care of your rental car which will be delivered the next morning on site quietly after your breakfast. From experience, believe me it's nice not to have to drive at night in an unknown city with a vehicle that you have not yet taken in hand.
TACACORI EcoLodge Alajuela is a 15/20-minute drive from the airport, while San José is 55 minutes away without traffic jams.
On more than 7000 m2 of tropical garden, forest and coffee plantations, immerse yourself in Nature as soon as you arrive and discover a haven of peace far from any pollution!
Few guests, our little EcoLodge is a place of connoisseurs, which was created to be a relaxing and elegant first stop for travelers looking for authentic experiences and a deep connection with nature.
You will be on the road to the Poas Volcano that you can visit the next morning. Its main crater is 300 m deep and more than a kilometer in diameter: it is the largest geyser-type crater in the world. Unforgettable!
So I say to you:
See you soon when you arrive in ALAJUELA!
